📄 General Introduction
Mixed Xylene (MX) is an aromatic hydrocarbon blend of ortho-, meta-, and para-xylene isomers with a controlled percentage of ethylbenzene. This clear, flammable solvent is a key raw material in the coatings, inks & packaging, adhesives & thinners industries, and also as feedstock in aromatic units (p-xylene extraction / isomerization). Our export-grade MX is supplied with strict quality control, stable isomer distribution, and complete technical documentation in standard international packaging.
🔍 Technical Note: Uniform isomer distribution and low moisture (KF) are critical for alkyd/epoxy coatings. Avoid water contact and catalyst-deactivating contaminants in aromatic processes.

2) Hazards Identification | H226: Flammable liquid and vapor • H315: Causes skin irritation • H332/H312: Harmful if inhaled/in contact with skin • H336: May cause drowsiness or dizziness. Symptoms: headache, nausea, eye/skin irritation, dizziness. |
3) Composition/Information | Aromatics ≥ 99% including m-/p-/o-xylene with ethylbenzene (within controlled range). |
4) First Aid | Inhalation: Fresh air, oxygen/medical aid if needed • Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting, seek medical help immediately • Skin/Eye: Rinse with plenty of water for 15 min, remove contaminated clothing. |
5) Firefighting | Suitable media: Alcohol-resistant foam, dry powder, CO₂. Vapors are heavier than air and may travel, risk of flashback. Cool containers with water spray. |
6) Accidental Release | Stop source, ventilate, eliminate ignition sources, contain with absorbents; prevent entry to drains/waterways. |
7) Handling & Storage | Cool, well-ventilated place, away from oxidizers. Grounding during transfer. Use only approved containers (ADR/IMDG/IATA). |
8) Exposure/Protection | TLV-TWA: 100 ppm • Organic vapor mask, safety goggles, nitrile/butyl gloves, chemical-resistant clothing. |
9) Physical & Chemical Properties | Clear to light yellow liquid • Aromatic odor • Flash point: ~25°C (closed) • Boiling: 137–144°C • Density 20°C: ~0.868 g/cm³ • Insoluble in water, miscible with organic solvents. |
10) Stability & Reactivity | Stable under recommended conditions. Avoid heat/ignition/oxidizers. Decomposition: CO/CO₂. |
11) Toxicology | Acute respiratory/dermal effects; repeated exposure may cause skin dryness and CNS effects. |
12) Ecology | Floats on water, volatile; harmful to aquatic life in large amounts. Prevent uncontrolled release. |
